I found this challenge on Reading Through Life and seeing as how I loved the Gilmore Girls, I thought I would participate! As you fellow Gilmore Girl fans know, Rory and Lorelai read A LOT! Below is a list of all the books that were mentioned during the shows.
There are three levels of participation:
Emily: Read 5 books in at least two different categories
Lorelai: Read 10 books in at least three different categories
Rory: Read 20 books in at least four different categories
Due to the fact that this challenge ends on Dec. 31, 2010, I am going with Lorelai.

So, the books I have chosen are:
1. Emma by Jane Austen (classics)
2. Wizard of Oz by Frank L. Baum (children's/young adults)
3. Rebecca by Daphne Du Maurier (modern classics)
4. The Divine Secrets of the Ya-Ya Sisterhood by Rebecca Wells
5. To Kill a Mockingbird by Lee Harper
6. Great Expectations by Charles Dickens
7. Frankenstein by Mary Shelley
8. Uncle Tom's Cabin by Harriet Beecher Stowe
9. The Shining by Stephen King
10. Adventures of Huckleberry Finn by Mark Twain
I will cross these off as I finish them!
Excellent choices! I've got several of these on my list as well. I actually read Uncle Tom's Cabin last year and came away thinking it was really quite good except that Beecher Stowe got a bit too preachy. But I guess that's to be expected given the time.
