Irresistably Sweet Award

I was awarded the Irresistably Sweet award from Lah over at one of my favorite blogs,  Lazy Girl Reads! In order to accept the award, I will be passing it along to six other bloggers, and I must confess to four guilty pleasures.

So, here are my four guilty pleasures:
  • Pepsi!  I cannot live without the stuff.  Sad, I know but I must have Pepsi (in a bottle, not a can) to make it through a day.
  • The Bachelor/Bachelorette:  This has to really be one of the dumbest shows on tv.  I mean really, who falls in love with someone they have barely known?  And the cat fights....priceless!  So, despite it's unrealistic view on love, I watch for the fights!
  • Hot baths with bath melts from Lush Cosmetics.  My mom, sister and I go on a "girl's day" to Lush twice a year and a spend a huge amount of money so I can take my relaxing baths.  Lush is the only thing that got me through my complicated, high risk, 3rd pregnancy!
  • Cannoli:  My absolute favorite dessert!  There is a small grocery store across the river from me that sells the best cannoli ever and even though it is 20 miles away, I have been known to drive there just to get some.
Now, to the six blogs I want to award this too:
  1. Dizzy C's Little Book Blog
  2. Sarah Reads Too Much
  3. YA Bookie Monster
  4. Freda's Voice
  5. Watcha Readin', Books?:  A Teacher/Learner's Blog
  6. Truly Bookish

Life Is Good Award

Wow!  Another award!  I am feeling very loved! Thank you so much to Tina at Book Couture!  I appreciate the award!

Rules:
  1. Thank and link back to the person that gave this award.
  2. Answer the 10 survey questions.
  3. Pass the award along to 15 bloggers who you have recently discovered and who you think are fantastic.
  4. Contact the bloggers you’ve picked to let them know about the award.

Questions:
1. If you blog anonymously are you happy doing it that way; if you are not anonymous do you wish you had started out anonymously so you could be anonymous now?
I don't blog anonymously and I'm glad I don't.  I want people to have a little insight to my life so they can understand  my book reviews and my book choices.  I, of course, don't share anything private and only post what I want people to know but I have no regrets about not blogging anonymously.

2. Describe one incident that shows your inner stubborn side:
I absolutely refused to let my husband's best man take him to Vegas for his bachelor party.  It was not because I didn't trust him.  It was because his best friend is super rich and was going to pay for all the guys to go to Vegas for four days and I felt it wasn't fair to me or my girls.  If he had wanted to pay for all of us....now that would have been different but it caused a lot of tension.  The other reason was because he was going to kidnap my hubby and not tell me what was going on and I'm not cool with that.  So, just ask him about how stubborn I can be!

3. What do you see when you really look at yourself in the mirror?
Honestly, I see someone who is tired because I read so dang late into the night!  I see someone who is confident enough with myself that I don't need other people's approval.  I see someone who is happy with her life, for the most part!

4. What is your favourite summer cold drink?
Strawberry lemonade!  I love the stuff!
5. When you take time for yourself, what do you do?
I love to take a nice, hot bath wit a Lush bath bomb and a good book!

6. Is there something you still want to accomplish in your life? What is it?
I want to travel more and I would love to adopt a baby from Ethiopia or Russia.

7. When you attended school, were you the class clown, the class overachiever , the shy person, or always ditching?

I was shy!

8. If you close your eyes and want to visualize a very poignant moment of your life what would you see?
When I got pregnant with my daughter (my 2nd child), my husband's grandma was dying of cancer.  She was an AMAZING woman!  About 3 weeks after she died, we had to have a special test done on our baby because a test determined that she may be a Trisomy 18 baby (which meant potential death upon birth).   We did not know the sex and the tech asked if we wanted to know because even though it was early, she had a very clear view.  We said yes and she told us the baby was a girl.  I think we both were crying because we said that if she was a girl we would be naming her after my husband's grandma.  Thus, we have Alexis Jean!

9. Is it easy for you to share your true self in your blog or are you more comfortable writing posts about other people or events?
I have no problemns with sharing my true self in my blog.  That's what I started my blog for...to share my true self and opinions with others!

10. If you had the choice to sit down and read or talk on the phone, which would you do and why?
Um, I am gonna have to say read, hands down!  I'm not a big phone talker!

Yay! Some more awards for my blog!

So this is a new award for me so a huge thank you to Ashlie from Page Turners Gone Wild.  I really appreciate the award!

All you have to do for the Cherry on Top award is:
1) answer the question "If I had the chance to go back and change one thing in my life, would I, and what would it be?"
2) Pick up to 6 people and give them this award
3) Thank the person who gave me the award.

So, if I had the chance to go back and change one thing in my like, would I?  I honestly have to say no.  I didn't have the easiest of childhoods.  My parents were awesome but I was molested by my dad's best friend and fellow police officer (unknown to my dad, of course!) and then struggled with anorexia BUT, even with all that, I wouldn't change anything because it made me such a strong person.  Plus, I believe that everything in life is connected.  If I hadn't gone through that, it might have changed the course of my life and I wouldn't have met and married my amazing, sexy and wonderful husband and I wouldn't have the three greatest, cutest, smartest kids in the world (okay, I may be a little biased...but just a little).  So, there is my answer.

Now on to the hard part...picking just 6 people to give this award too!  Here I go:

Thanks again to Ashlie for passing the award on to me!

One Lovley Blog Award!

So, I am really behind on my reading, posting, reading other blogs...basically behind on everything.  It has just been one of those weeks where nothing goes right and next week doesn't look like it's gonna be any better.  So, I was very pleasantly surprised when I was finally able to check in on my blog (in the pouring down rain, on my iPhone at my son's soccer practice) and saw that Sarah from Sarah Reads Too Much gave me this award!  It sure put a smile on my face (probably the first smile of the day) so I want to say a BIG thank you to Sarah for making my day (and week) brighter!
So this is how it works:
Rules:

1. Accept the award. Post it on your blog with the name of the person who has granted the award and his or her blog link.
2. Pay it forward to 15 other bloggers that you have newly discovered.
3. Contact those blog owners and let them know that they've been chosen.
Now comes the hard part....figuring out only 15 bloggers to send it on too!  Here goes...
